I have had the most wonderful horses throughout the years and it's down to them that I am doing what I do today...BUT ... The one horse that I just pinch myself everyday that we were together is the amazing Chocolate teddy CT.
He was the smartest horse I have ever met and the belief we had in each other from the moment we set eyes on each other has made for the best moments of my life.
Beautiful liver sorrel Quarter horse out of top cutting stallion Tamulena and dam Eclipse Cutter. Born 02/04/96 in Oklahoma City OK USA 🇺🇸 He started his cutting career early still entire and competed in the Midwest and down to Texas
At the age of 5 2001 he ended up at a the Kentucky horse sales in where Harry O’Rourke of Pond Hill Ranch Castleton VT found him and shipped him up to Vermont.
Harry sold him a few times during that year but unfortunately CT did not do good in any of his homes and kept been sent back time after time for to his behaviour and aggressive nature. Harry rode him as his pick up horse in the rodeos and the two built up a good relationship and was the only person CT would trust to handle and ride him.
Harry did Not need an extra horse as he’d got him for sales and could no longer carry on with CT 2002 I was booked to do my final training and exam for my CHA advanced instructor certification and clinician certificate
Wanting to do this at my camp CCC I needed an advanced English and advanced Western horse to ride In my ridden English and western examinatio. Camp had great English horses but nothing advanced for western. I contacted Harry at Pond Hill as being a top leasing barn for the whole of the East coast and where we leased horses from every summer for camp, I knew he’d have a great Western horse I could lease for a week.
Phone call made to the United States Harry had 5 good advanced horses I could try before my exams started.
Flew to the states June leased him off Harry for a week during a CHA clinic and in that short time we became soul mates and I could not leave America without him. In October 2002 i flew him to the UK and CT has stayed by my side ever since. I spent our first 2 years working on the ground just allowing him the time to believe nothing would hurt him he had very low confidence and the ground work allowed him to realise he could do it, the first time I rode him after months and months watching him frozen in his box just cause he had a saddle on him was the best feeling. So now every time I ride him
